STEPIN LITE Privacy Policy

Sidewalk Entertainment ("we", "us" or the "Company") values the personal information of users of STEPIN LITE (the "Service"), a dance game app, and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and other applicable laws. The Service can be used by children under 14, does not provide social features, and collects only the minimum personal information from children.

1. Personal Information We Collect and How

  • Sign-up: user ID, nickname, password, date of birth, email, country
  • Social sign-in (Apple, Google): the account identifier and email provided by the platform (including Apple's Hide My Email address)
  • Legal Guardian consent for users under 14: the Legal Guardian's name, contact details (mobile number or email) and consent records
  • Gameplay: body coordinates and motion data recognized by the camera, videos recorded during games, and play records such as scores, rankings, levels and achievements
  • Collected automatically: device information (model, OS version), app version, language and time zone, country- or city-level location, error logs, access logs, purchase history and report history
  • Tournament entry (with consent): name, date of birth, contact details, email, nationality and tournament entry videos

Because the Service does not provide posts, comments, follows or messaging between users, we do not collect information related to them. Personal information is entered directly by the user or Legal Guardian during sign-up and use, or collected automatically while using the app.

2. Purposes of Collection and Use

  • Member management: identification, age verification, verification of Legal Guardian consent, prevention of misuse, handling inquiries and reports, and sending notices
  • Providing the Service: scoring dances through motion recognition, providing game features such as practice, battles, tournaments and quizzes, saving play records and showing rankings, and processing purchases of Virtual Goods
  • Improving the Service: error analysis, feature improvements and usage statistics
  • Running tournaments: confirming entries, processing results and delivering rewards

We do not send advertising messages to users under 14 without their Legal Guardian's consent, and we do not use the behavioral data of users under 14 for personalized advertising.

3. Protection of Children Under 14

  • We obtain the Legal Guardian's consent when collecting personal information from children under 14.
  • To verify consent, we collect the Legal Guardian's name and contact details, and use them only to verify consent and to contact the Legal Guardian.
  • A Legal Guardian may at any time request access to, correction, deletion or suspension of processing of the child's personal information, or withdrawal of the child's membership, and we will act without delay.
  • We collect only the minimum personal information from children needed to provide the Service and do not encourage children to provide additional personal information.

4. Provision to Third Parties

As a rule, we do not provide users' personal information to third parties. However, with the consent of the user (or the Legal Guardian for users under 14), we may provide the user ID, nickname, name, date of birth, contact details, email, nationality, tournament entry videos and Legal Guardian consent form (where applicable) to a tournament host for the purpose of running the tournament, except where otherwise required by law.

  • Google Cloud Platform: data storage and service operation
  • Google Firebase: analysis of service usage
  • Google Marketing Platform: service improvement, usage analysis, data storage and system operation
  • Google Ads: advertising analysis
  • Channel Corporation: customer support and consultation

6. Transfer of Personal Information Abroad

  • Google Cloud Platform — Countries: Singapore, Republic of Korea, United States, United Kingdom, EU / Items: information collected in the course of the Service / Purpose: data storage and system operation / Period: until the purpose is achieved / Method: transferred as needed over networks
  • Google Firebase and Google Marketing Platform — Country: United States / Items: device information, age, IP, location, purchase history / Purpose: usage analysis / Period: until the purpose is achieved
  • Google Ads — Country: United States / Items: device information, device language, advertising identifier, IP, location, access logs, purchase history / Purpose: advertising analysis / Period: until the purpose is achieved (not used for personalized advertising to users under 14)

7. Retention and Destruction

  • We destroy personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use is achieved. When a user withdraws, related personal information is destroyed immediately, and only the minimum information needed to prevent misuse and re-registration is kept for 7 days.
  • Accounts not used for 1 year or more become dormant, with notice by email 30 days in advance.
  • Information kept as required by law: records of labeling and advertising for 6 months; records of contracts, withdrawal of offers, payments and supply of goods for 5 years; records of consumer complaints and disputes for 3 years; access logs for 3 months.
  • Electronic files are deleted in a way that cannot be recovered, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

8. Rights of Users and Legal Guardians

Users, and the Legal Guardians of users under 14, may at any time request access to, correction, deletion or suspension of processing of personal information, and may withdraw consent and membership via Settings > Withdraw Membership in the app or through Customer Support (stepin.cs@sidewalkplay.com). We will act on requests without delay.

9. Automatic Collection Tools

We may use in-app analytics tools and advertising identifiers to analyze use of the Service. Users can limit ad tracking or reset the advertising identifier in their device settings. Information of users under 14 is not used for personalized advertising.

10. Security Measures

We protect personal information through measures such as access control, encryption in transit, encrypted storage of passwords, retention of access logs and operation of security programs.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy takes effect on October 17, 2026. Any changes will be announced in the app at least 7 days before they take effect (at least 30 days for material changes).
